I have been discovering what I truly want in my life and planning on how to accomplish it. I want to add purpose and meaning to my life and live a lifestyle that brings me happiness and fulfilment.
DAY FOUR – Dreamsetting
I had planned on completing “Change Your Life In 7 Days” by Paul McKenna on Friday 26th of July 2024. Today is Tuesday 30th of July 2024, but I ‘m still working on it.
It is taking longer to finish the book as I am actually putting time into doing the exercises that are contained in the book. I can already feel a shift in my mindset towards optimism.
I had to spend 4 days on “DAY 4 – Dreamsetting”. I used the exercises to figure out what I truly wanted in my life and the person that I want to become.
I was off work for 4 days and had to carry out family duties. I cannot neglect my family whilst working on building a better lifestyle. Spending time with family is part of my core values and it will not change. I managed to use my spare time to work on the exercises listed in the book and carry out the daily hypnosis sessions.
Our Dreams May Change With Time
After working on the exercises mentioned in DAY 4 – Dreamsetting, I have realized that my dreams have changed as I have experienced various things in life.
My dreams are no longer just about me, I need to include my family into my dreams too. I want to create a dream lifestyle that includes my family around me.
I have spent a lot of time to add details to the dream lifestyle that I want to create. I have managed to formulate goals that will enable me to reach my dream lifestyle.
These goals are broken down into 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years and 5 years. One of my goal is to build up passive income streams that will allow me to quit my current employment.
My goals are not set in stone and may change as I make progress. Everyone seeks to live a life filled with happiness and purpose. The vision of happiness and purpose will be different for everyone. This is the reason we need to work out what our dream lifestyle will look like… the possessions, experiences, and the person we want to become.
I will continue working on my goals and modify them as required. The destination is happiness, and the road to get there may change.
A Common Goal Shared By Most People
Most people want to build a passive income stream that will allow them to quit their current employment. The vast majority of people are working in jobs that they are not happy with.
They work just to enable them to cover their monthly expenses. There is no job satisfaction or job security, it’s just the typical trading time for money trap.
It is hard for them to leave their job as they need to come up with the money every month to cover their living expenses. They don’t have any savings to fall back on to enable them to try something different.
I am currently stuck in a trading time for money job. I am employed as a corporate security officer. They is no job satisfaction or job security, I’m just trading my time to earn a monthly income.
Like most people I would also like to leave this job and do something constructive with my life. I need to add purpose to my life and get out of just drifting along.
I would require a monthly income of over $5,000 to enable me to cover my monthly expenses. I have set a goal of building a passive income stream that allows me to earn this amount every month in 12 months time.
You will no doubt have your own monthly monetary amount that will enable you to cover your living expenses. I would suggest you set a goal of earning this amount, it would be a massive bonus to earn it in the form of passive income.
I don’t know exactly how I am going to earn over $5,000 monthly in passive income, but I have set a goal to do it in 12 months.
Stop Worrying And Start Taking Action
I was going through a really rough time since the beginning of 2024. The worry and stress made me physically ill and mentally depressed. I was struggling without any help, it was really difficult to get help.
At times like this, you get to know who really cares about you. The stress and depression got really bad, something had to change… I made a decision to take action.
I hated going into work, as the environment was totally negative and added to the stress and depressed me further. I had to take control of my own life, I had to become the master of my own destiny.
I made a decision to transform my life and connect with my dreams again. I had to ignore the negative influence at work and use the time to transform my mindset.
I had to distance myself from the constant yapping and screaming on the phone, playing loud news and dramas by inconsiderate work colleagues. I focused on my dream lifestyle and blocked out the negativity. My goal was to get out of this toxic environment.
I did not know how I was going to replace the income from my current job, but I knew that I had to do it. I could not tolerate this bull sh#it much longer.
I am typing this blog post at work, as I need to use every available minute I have constructively. There is so much distraction, but I have managed to block it of by focusing on the dream lifestyle that I want to create.
I can feel the stress go down as I have reduced the worrying. Taking positive action has eliminated a lot of the worry that used to occupy my mind.
Our conscious mind cannot focus on two things at the same time, so it’s either worry or focusing on my dream. By focusing on my dream, the worrying could not occupy my mind.
I spend most of my free time focusing on my self-improvement goals. I avoid getting involved in the gossip at work. I get my work done and focus on my goals.
Building Good Habits For Success
I have started building positive habits to enable me to accomplish my goals and create my dream lifestyle. Habits get formed by repeating a task daily.
If you want to get up at 5:00 am, you will need to force yourself to get up at 5:00 am everyday. It will be difficult during the initial stage, once you have done it over 40 days in a row, it will start to form into a habit. If you do it for a whole year, it will become a routine and you will not have to think about it.
I am using the Samurai Mode Habit Builder to form new habits to enable me to succeed on my journey towards creating my dream lifestyle. This is a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet that is available on Etsy. It is simple to use and a great way to track the daily actions that you want to make into habits.

This habit builder spreadsheet is designed by KalligraphyKid (my son!). He designed it for me after hearing my plans on building my dream lifestyle. You can get it for £1, it’s absolutely worth it.
You can use the traditional paper and pen approach, but this spreadsheet will allow you to easily track your activity and progress.

Remember this…the only person that cares about your hopes and dreams is you. The only person that is going to transform your dreams into reality is you.
You have 3 choices in life…
1) You can watch things happen.
2) Make things happen.
3) Wonder what the hell happened.
I would look at it like this… imagine you are traveling in the sea on a boat… you can just drift along, or set your direction using your oars, or wonder who pushed your boat.
Be a good person but don’t waste your time proving it. The good that you put out in the world will come back to you.
Stay strong even when things begin to fall apart, stay strong. Life will test you multiple times.
If you want to be trusted, be honest. I have found that honesty is the best policy. You’re being judged no matter what, so be who you want to be. It’s your life, the only person you need to please is yourself.
Forget the experiences that have hurt you in life, but never forget the lesson they have taught you. These experiences have shaped you into the person that you are now.
When you are angry stay silent. You don’t have to win every argument, agree to disagree. Arguing with a fool will make you into a bigger fool. The wise person ends the argument and moves on.
Control your thoughts or your thoughts will control you. You are a product of your thoughts along with the reality you are experiencing. Your thoughts shape your character and your character shapes your destiny.
Don’t make a permanent decision based on temporary emotions. Make important decisions whilst in a good emotional state. You can delay deciding until you have analysed the prospective outcomes.
Everything is hard before it is easy. You will have to repeat something multiple times until it is programmed into your subconscious mind. Once it has been programmed into your subconscious, the process becomes automatic.
When I first started using WordPress for blogging it was difficult. I had to figure out where everything was in the control panel. After using it for some time, it has become second nature.
You must find your dream no matter how old you may be. It isn’t over until you stop breathing. There is always time to improve your lifestyle and go after your dreams. Your dreams may change as you get older, but you should never run out of dreams.
Your dreams give your life purpose and keep you going. Not everyone will have similar dreams, but the goal will likely be happiness.
The above are some ideas I have managed to note down from the video. I enjoy watching these self-improvement videos, they put me in a positive state of mind.
One day I will start creating my own self-improvement videos, but for now, I will continue with my blogging. I am really grateful that I have the opportunity to express my ideas and thoughts on this blog.
This blog allows me to share my journey and will inspire others start their own journey. It is early days, but I know that I am making progress. I am more optimistic about the future, I know that I possess the ability to design the future that I desire.
