For the past month, I had been completely immersed in the world of self improvement. Every single day I was reading books, listening to audiobooks, watching motivational videos and absorbing new ideas like a sponge. My mindset had started to transform in ways that I had never experienced before.
The more knowledge I acquired, the more I began to question my current lifestyle.
I was working long night shifts, trading my time for money and spending most of my energy helping another company achieve its goals while my own dreams remained in the background. Deep down, I knew that I wanted freedom. I wanted the freedom to work on projects that I was passionate about. I wanted the freedom to control my own time. I wanted the freedom to create income online instead of relying solely on a job.
The challenge was this.
I did not know exactly how I was going to apply the knowledge that I had been acquiring to create the life that I truly desired.
Everything started to change after one simple decision.
I decided to take action.
Working Long Night Shifts Made Me Rethink My Life
Working long night shifts gives you a lot of time to think.
While most of the world is asleep, you are awake watching the hours slowly pass by. You begin to reflect on your life, your future and where your current path is leading you.
There is nothing wrong with honest work. I am grateful to have employment and income coming in consistently. However, I realized that I did not want to spend the rest of my life trapped in a cycle of working long hours without building something for myself.
The self improvement content that I had been consuming was slowly changing my perspective.
I started realizing that if I wanted freedom, I had to build assets.
I needed something that could eventually generate income without requiring me to constantly trade hours for money.
That is when I started thinking seriously about creating an online income stream that aligned with my values and interests.
I did not want to build something fake.
I did not want to chase trends that I did not care about.
I wanted to build something meaningful.
Self improvement had already started changing my own life, so it felt natural to build around that niche.
Consuming Knowledge Is Not Enough
One of the biggest lessons that I learned during this process is that consuming knowledge alone does not change your life.
You can read hundreds of books.
You can watch thousands of motivational videos.
You can listen to endless podcasts.
But if you never apply what you learn, nothing changes.
I realized that I had reached a point where I needed to move from learning into action.
This was difficult because action creates fear.
Learning feels safe.
Watching videos feels productive.
Reading books feels productive.
But creating something and putting it into the world is completely different.
That requires courage.
I started asking myself difficult questions.
How could I monetize the knowledge that I was acquiring?
How could I turn this into something that could eventually give me more freedom?
How could I create value for other people while also building a future for myself?
These questions stayed in my mind constantly during my shifts at work.
Why I Decided To Monetize Self Improvement Knowledge
At first, I was unsure whether it was ethical to monetize self improvement knowledge.
I genuinely questioned myself.
Who was I to charge money for information?
Would people think I was trying to take advantage of others?
Would it be wrong for me to earn money from knowledge that I had learned from books, videos and life experience?
After thinking deeply about it, I realized something important.
People pay for knowledge every single day.
A doctor charges for knowledge.
A lawyer charges for knowledge.
An accountant charges for knowledge.
A consultant charges for knowledge.
A tax advisor charges for knowledge.
The world operates on the exchange of value.
If the information genuinely helps somebody improve their life, solve problems or move closer towards their goals, then providing that information for a fair price is completely ethical.
The key is this.
The product must provide real value.
That became my focus.
I wanted my eBooks to genuinely help people.
I wanted somebody to finish reading one of my guides and feel inspired to take action in their own life.
Looking For A Simple Online Business Model
I started researching different ways of monetizing knowledge online.
There are many options available today.
You can create YouTube channels.
You can build blogs and monetize them with ads.
You can create online courses.
You can start coaching businesses.
You can build subscription communities.
You can create podcasts.
The problem was that many of these methods required a huge amount of time, technical skill or audience building before generating income.
For example, building a blog through AdSense can take a very long time.
You need traffic.
You need SEO knowledge.
You need hundreds of articles in many cases.
You also need patience because income grows slowly.
Creating video courses also seemed overwhelming at this stage.
I did not have professional video equipment.
I did not have advanced editing skills.
I was also working long shifts, which meant that my energy and time were limited.
I needed something simpler.
I needed a business model that I could start immediately with the resources that I already had.
That is when I started exploring the idea of creating eBooks in PDF format.
Why PDF eBooks Made Sense To Me
The more I thought about it, the more PDF eBooks made perfect sense.
PDF files are simple.
Almost everybody in the world can open and read them.
They do not require complicated software.
They can be downloaded instantly.
They are easy to distribute globally.
Most importantly, I realized that I could create them using the knowledge and writing ability that I already possessed.
I also had something else working in my favor.
I had free time during parts of my shifts at work.
During quieter moments, I could write down ideas, organize concepts and structure the self improvement knowledge that I was learning daily.
Instead of wasting that time scrolling endlessly on social media, I started using it productively.
Little by little, pages started to come together.
The process gave me purpose.
I was no longer simply consuming information.
I was creating something valuable.
Why I Chose Payhip
After deciding to create eBooks, I needed a platform to sell them.
I researched different digital product platforms and eventually decided to use Payhip.
One of the main reasons I chose Payhip was because it was free to get started.
As somebody building an online income stream from scratch, I did not want to invest large amounts of money upfront.
Payhip allowed me to upload and sell digital products without monthly fees on the free plan.
They simply charged a 5% transaction fee whenever a sale was made.
That seemed fair to me.
It removed a huge amount of risk.
I could focus on creating value instead of worrying about expensive software subscriptions or complicated ecommerce systems.
For beginners, simplicity matters.
Many people never start because they overcomplicate everything.
I wanted to avoid that mistake.
Pricing My eBooks Realistically
Initially, I considered pricing my eBooks at $7.99 each.
However, after thinking carefully, I realized that this pricing strategy probably would not work for me at this stage.
Well known authors like Brian Tracy or Joe Dispenza can easily charge premium prices because they already have global audiences and strong personal brands.
People trust them.
People recognize their names instantly.
I was still unknown.
I was just beginning my journey.
I understood that if I wanted people to take a chance on my content, I needed to lower the barrier to entry.
That is why I decided to price my eBooks at $2.99.
At that price point, the purchase feels affordable to most people.
It also allows readers to experience my content without taking a huge financial risk.
For me, the goal at this stage is not maximizing profit per sale.
The goal is building trust, creating value and establishing authority within the self improvement niche.
Understanding The Payhip Fees
On the Payhip Free plan, there are transaction fees that must be considered.
The platform takes a 5% transaction fee and standard payment processor fees also apply through Stripe or PayPal.
For a $2.99 eBook sale, the estimated earnings generally look like this:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale Price | $2.99 |
| Payhip Fee | -$0.15 |
| Stripe/PayPal Fee | -$0.39 |
| Estimated Earnings | ~$2.45 |
This means that I would typically keep around $2.40 to $2.50 per sale.
At first glance, some people may think that this is not much money.
But everything changes when you start thinking in scale.
The Power Of Scale And Digital Products
Digital products have incredible scalability.
You create the product once.
After that, it can potentially sell forever.
There is no inventory.
There is no packaging.
There is no shipping.
There are no warehouse costs.
That is the beauty of digital products.
If I sold:
- 10 eBooks, I could make around $24.50
- 100 eBooks, I could make around $245
- 1,000 eBooks, I could make around $2,450
That may not sound life changing initially, but the important thing is momentum.
Most successful online businesses start small.
The first sale matters.
The first customer matters.
The first positive review matters.
Over time, these things compound.
As my audience grows and my library of eBooks expands, the income potential also grows.
Eventually, I may upgrade to Payhip’s paid plans where the transaction fees decrease.
But for now, the free plan is more than enough to begin.
Keeping The eBooks Short And Practical
I decided that my eBooks would generally be between 50 and 100 pages long.
I wanted them to be detailed enough to provide real value but short enough that somebody could realistically read them within a sitting or over a weekend.
Many people today are overwhelmed.
Attention spans are shorter than ever.
I did not want to create bloated content filled with unnecessary filler.
I wanted practical, focused and actionable guides.
That became part of my philosophy.
Respect the reader’s time.
Deliver value quickly.
Encourage action.
Because ultimately, information alone changes nothing.
Applied information changes everything.
Publishing My First Three eBooks
Using my free time outside work and during quieter moments at work, I managed to complete and publish three eBooks.
Seeing them finally uploaded online felt surreal.
For the first time, I had created digital assets that could potentially generate income while I slept.
The three eBooks that I published were:
Why Taking Action Matters More Than Perfection
One of the biggest lessons that I have learned through this process is that action matters more than perfection.
Many people spend years planning.
They wait for the perfect moment.
They wait until they know everything.
They wait until they feel fully confident.
That moment rarely arrives.
I could have delayed these eBooks forever.
I could have spent another year researching.
I could have continued doubting myself.
Instead, I chose action.
Are the eBooks perfect?
Probably not.
Will they improve over time?
Absolutely.
But they now exist.
They are real.
They can help people.
And they have the potential to become an income stream.
None of that would have happened if I stayed trapped in endless preparation.
Building A Passive Income Stream Around My Values
One reason I feel excited about this journey is because it aligns with my values.
I am not trying to scam people.
I am not trying to manipulate anybody.
I am trying to create genuine value.
Self improvement changed the way I think.
It helped me realize that I have more potential than I previously believed.
Now I want to pass those lessons onto others.
At the same time, I also want to build financial freedom.
There is nothing wrong with wanting freedom.
There is nothing wrong with wanting more control over your life.
Passive income streams can help create that freedom over time.
This eBook business may become one piece of a much larger vision.
Escaping The Rat Race
Like many people, I do not want to spend my entire life trapped in the rat race.
The rat race is not simply about working a job.
It is about feeling trapped.
It is about lacking control over your time.
It is about living only for weekends and annual leave.
I realized that if I wanted a different future, I had to start building it now.
Even if progress is slow.
Even if income starts small.
Even if nobody initially notices.
Every successful journey starts somewhere.
This is my starting point.
The important thing is movement.
The Information Only Works If You Apply It
One thing that I constantly remind myself and others is this.
Knowledge without action is useless.
You can buy every self improvement book in the world.
You can attend seminars.
You can listen to podcasts for years.
But unless you apply what you learn, your life remains the same.
That is why I want my eBooks to encourage implementation.
Reading alone is not enough.
Action creates transformation.
The people who improve their lives are usually not the smartest people.
They are often the people willing to consistently apply what they learn.
Supporting My Journey And Starting Your Own
Creating these eBooks is more than just an attempt to earn money online.
It represents a shift in my mindset.
It represents taking ownership of my future.
It represents believing that I can create something meaningful outside of traditional employment.
If you decide to purchase one of my eBooks, you are not only supporting my journey.
You are also investing in your own growth.
My goal is to provide far more value than the $2.99 price tag attached to each guide.
If even one idea inside these eBooks helps somebody improve their mindset, reduce stress, become more disciplined or take action towards their goals, then the work was worth it.
The Beginning Of A Bigger Vision
Right now, this is just the beginning.
I do not know exactly where this journey will lead.
But I know this.
I no longer want to simply consume information endlessly without applying it.
I want to build.
I want to create.
I want to take action.
These first three eBooks represent the start of that process.
Over time, I plan to continue learning, improving and creating more valuable resources for people interested in self improvement, mindset, discipline, freedom and personal growth.
Every long shift.
Every late night.
Every page written.
Every lesson learned.
It is all part of the journey.
And perhaps one day, these small actions will compound into the freedom that I have been searching for all along.
Interested In Promoting My eBooks As An Affiliate
One of the great things about platforms like Payhip is that they allow creators to build affiliate programs around their products.
This means that other people can promote your eBooks and earn commission whenever they generate sales.
I love this idea because it creates a win-win situation.
The creator earns sales.
The affiliate earns commission.
The customer gains valuable knowledge.
Everybody benefits.
If you are interested in self improvement, passive income or earning money online, promoting digital products as an affiliate can become another income stream in itself.
As I continue building my platform and publishing more guides, I hope to create opportunities that benefit both myself and others walking similar paths towards freedom.
This journey is still in its early stages.
But every successful journey starts with a single step.
Mine started with reading, learning, reflecting and finally deciding to take action
