There are times in life when progress feels slow, uncomfortable and uncertain. Sometimes it is because we are facing financial challenges. Other times it is because our health temporarily lets us down. The important thing is to keep moving forward regardless of the obstacles that appear in front of us.
As I sit here writing this blog post, I am still recovering from a sudden flu virus infection. The worst seems to be behind me now. The aches and pains throughout my body have reduced significantly and the headache that was bothering me has finally disappeared.
Although I am not completely back to normal yet, I can feel myself moving in the right direction.
The experience has reminded me how quickly our circumstances can change. One day you are operating normally and the next day you find yourself feeling exhausted, weak and unable to perform at your usual level.
Despite feeling under the weather, I have tried to maintain a positive mindset. I have discovered that the mind often plays a huge role in how quickly we recover from setbacks.
Rather than focusing on how unwell I felt, I decided to focus on where I wanted to go and what I wanted to achieve.
That mindset has helped me continue working on one of my biggest goals for 2026.
Building a successful travel blog.
Staying Focused Despite Illness

One thing that I have learned over the years is that there will never be a perfect time to pursue your goals.
There will always be distractions.
There will always be challenges.
There will always be unexpected problems that appear from nowhere.
Many people wait for the perfect moment before taking action. Unfortunately, that perfect moment rarely arrives.
While recovering from the flu, I found myself dealing with several distractions that could easily have pulled my focus away from my goals.
Fortunately, I have become much better at identifying distractions and refusing to allow them to dominate my attention.
My primary focus remains the same.
Build valuable digital assets.
Create content.
Learn new skills.
Generate online income.
Move closer to financial freedom.
Every morning after finishing my night shift, I return home at approximately 8:30 am.
Most people would probably head straight to bed.
Instead, I dedicate around two hours each morning to working on my travel blog.
From around 8:30 am until 10:30 am, I focus on creating travel content.
This may not sound like a lot of time.
However, when those two hours are repeated every day, they begin to produce meaningful results.
Consistency often beats intensity.
Many people work hard for a few days and then quit.
I would rather work steadily for months and years.
Why I Chose A Travel Blog

Before creating FoxiManna.com as a travel blog, I spent time researching different blogging niches.
I wanted to find something that would satisfy two important requirements.
The first requirement was monetization potential.
The second requirement was enjoyment.
There is little point building a business around a subject that you dislike.
If you do not enjoy the topic, eventually your motivation will disappear.
Travel appealed to me for several reasons.
Travel is a subject that millions of people are interested in every single day.
People are constantly searching for information about countries, cities, attractions, hotels, flights and travel experiences.
Unlike many niches, travel contains an endless supply of content ideas.
There are over 190 countries in the world.
There are thousands of cities.
There are millions of tourist attractions.
The opportunities for content creation are almost limitless.
Most importantly, travel is a niche with multiple revenue opportunities.
This was a major factor in my decision.
The Reality Of Travel Blog Competition

I am under no illusions about the challenge ahead.
The travel niche is highly competitive.
Thousands of travel blogs already exist.
Many have been operating for years.
Some have teams of writers.
Others have significant marketing budgets.
Competing against established travel blogs will not be easy.
However, competition does not scare me.
Competition often confirms that money is being made in a particular market.
If nobody was making money from travel blogging, there would not be so many travel blogs.
The challenge is not avoiding competition.
The challenge is producing better content and implementing better strategies.
I know that ranking on Google will require a strong commitment to both content quality and search engine optimization.
Writing articles alone is not enough.
The articles must answer questions.
They must provide value.
They must be structured properly.
They must target keywords that people are searching for.
Success in blogging requires both creativity and strategy.
Understanding The Google Waiting Period

One of the biggest mistakes that new bloggers make is expecting immediate results.
The reality is very different.
Google generally takes time to discover, index and rank new content.
From my research, it may take around four weeks before I begin seeing meaningful movement in search rankings.
That means I could spend an entire month creating content without seeing any significant increase in traffic.
Many people become discouraged during this period.
They assume their efforts are failing.
Then they quit.
I intend to do the opposite.
I will continue publishing content regardless of whether I see immediate traffic growth.
The work comes first.
The results follow later.
This principle applies to almost every area of life.
The farmer plants seeds before seeing crops.
The athlete trains before seeing results.
The blogger publishes content before seeing traffic.
Patience is part of the process.
Using Pinterest To Generate Early Traffic

While waiting for Google traffic to develop, I will also be exploring other traffic sources.
Pinterest is one platform that repeatedly appears in discussions among successful bloggers.
Many bloggers use Pinterest to drive visitors to their websites.
Unlike some social media platforms where content disappears quickly, Pinterest pins can continue generating traffic for months or even years.
For a new blog, this can be extremely valuable.
If Pinterest helps bring additional visitors to FoxiManna.com, it will allow me to start building momentum while waiting for Google rankings to improve.
Traffic generation is an important skill that every blogger must learn.
Creating content is only half the battle.
Getting people to discover that content is equally important.
Starting Again With A Fresh Direction

Initially, FoxiManna.com contained a variety of unrelated posts.
Over time, I realised that a more focused approach would be beneficial.
As a result, I decided to remove the random content and transform the website into a dedicated travel blog.
This fresh start has given the website a clear identity.
Visitors now know exactly what the site is about.
Search engines can better understand the site’s purpose.
Future content can be planned more effectively.
Sometimes progress requires starting again.
That can be difficult because deleting previous work often feels painful.
However, focusing on one clear direction is often better than trying to be everything to everyone.
Celebrating The First 21 Visitors

On 4 June 2026, FoxiManna.com received 21 unique visitors according to Google Analytics.
Some people may laugh at that number.
Others may dismiss it as insignificant.
I see it differently.
Every successful website started with zero visitors.
The first visitor matters.
The first ten visitors matter.
The first hundred visitors matter.
Those 21 visitors represent proof that people are finding the content.
It is evidence that progress is happening.
No matter how small that progress may appear.
I am looking forward to the day when the blog consistently receives more than 100 visitors per day.
After that, I will aim for 500 visitors per day.
Then 1,000 visitors per day.
Every major achievement is built from smaller milestones.
My Monetization Roadmap

My current monetization plan is straightforward.
The first objective is to reach consistent traffic levels.
Once I am regularly receiving over 100 unique visitors per day, I will consider applying for Google AdSense.
AdSense allows website owners to earn advertising revenue from visitors viewing advertisements.
While advertising revenue alone may not create financial freedom, it can provide an important foundation.
The second stage involves affiliate marketing.
Once the blog reaches over 1,000 daily visitors, I will begin placing greater emphasis on affiliate offers.
Affiliate marketing can often generate significantly higher revenue than display advertising.
My target is to have the blog monetized by 31 August 2026.
Whether I achieve that goal remains to be seen.
However, having a target provides direction and motivation.
Moving Away From Physical Businesses

Over the years, I have been involved in various physical product businesses.
While physical businesses can be profitable, they often come with significant challenges.
Inventory.
Storage.
Shipping.
Customer service.
Returns.
Supplier issues.
These challenges consume both time and energy.
Increasingly, I find myself attracted to digital business models.
Digital businesses offer scalability.
They often require lower startup costs.
Many can be operated from anywhere with an internet connection.
This is one of the reasons why I am focusing so heavily on building digital assets.
Building A Portfolio Of Digital Assets

My long-term vision extends beyond a single blog.
I want to build a collection of digital assets that generate income.
These assets may include:
Blogs.
Ebooks.
Print on demand products.
TikTok channels.
YouTube channels.
Affiliate websites.
Digital products.
Each asset has the potential to create additional income streams.
The beauty of digital assets is that much of the work is completed upfront.
A blog post written today may continue generating traffic years from now.
An ebook can be sold repeatedly without being recreated.
A print on demand design can generate sales long after it has been uploaded.
Digital assets can continue working even when you are sleeping.
That concept fascinates me.
The Massive Potential Of Travel Affiliate Marketing

Travel blogging offers numerous affiliate opportunities.
Visitors may book:
Holiday packages.
Flights.
Hotels.
Car rentals.
Train tickets.
Travel insurance.
Airport transfers.
Travel experiences.
Tours and attractions.
Luggage and travel accessories.
The list is extensive.
Every booking represents a potential commission.
The exciting part is that the blogger does not need to deliver the holiday package.
The blogger does not process payments.
The blogger simply connects interested travellers with relevant travel services.
If a visitor decides to make a purchase, a commission may be earned.
It is a straightforward business model.
Thinking Bigger About Revenue Potential

Many people struggle to imagine earning substantial income online.
I understand this because I once felt the same way.
However, numbers help make possibilities feel more realistic.
Imagine earning £20 commission on a holiday package booking.
If 25 bookings were generated daily, that would produce:
25 bookings x £20 commission = £500 daily
£500 daily x 30 days = £15,000 monthly
Of course, achieving these numbers would require significant traffic and targeted visitors.
It would not happen overnight.
However, the example demonstrates the potential.
The opportunity exists.
Whether I reach those figures or not remains unknown.
But understanding the possibilities expands my thinking.
The Importance Of Targeted Visitors

Traffic alone is not enough.
The quality of traffic matters.
A visitor interested in booking a holiday package is far more valuable than a visitor with no intention of travelling.
For example, if only 0.5 percent of visitors booked a holiday package:
0.5% of 5,000 visitors equals 25 bookings.
This means that approximately 5,000 highly targeted visitors could potentially generate 25 daily bookings.
If visitor intent was lower, significantly more traffic would be required.
Understanding visitor intent is one of the keys to successful affiliate marketing.
The goal is not simply attracting visitors.
The goal is attracting the right visitors.
Learning From Successful Travel Bloggers

Many travel blogs struggle to earn meaningful income.
That is simply reality.
However, I choose to focus on successful examples.
Not because failure does not exist.
But because success leaves clues.
There are travel bloggers earning thousands of pounds every month.
Some earn tens of thousands.
Others earn significantly more.
Rather than focusing on people who failed, I prefer studying people who succeeded.
What keywords are they targeting?
What type of content are they creating?
How are they monetizing traffic?
How are they generating backlinks?
What social media platforms are they using?
These are the questions I want answered.
If successful strategies can be identified and adapted, they can often be replicated.
The Power Of Mindset And Belief

Everything I have discussed in this article ultimately comes back to mindset.
Before any result appears in reality, it first appears in the mind.
If you genuinely believe something is impossible, you are unlikely to take the actions required to achieve it.
On the other hand, if you believe something is possible, you become more willing to learn, experiment and persist.
I believe mindset is one of the most overlooked aspects of success.
Many people focus entirely on tactics.
They focus on techniques.
They focus on tools.
Yet they ignore the beliefs driving their actions.
Mindset influences persistence.
Persistence influences action.
Action influences results.
That chain begins in the mind.
Looking Ahead To The Future

As I continue recovering from the flu and building FoxiManna.com, I remain optimistic about the future.
The journey is still in its early stages.
Traffic remains small.
Revenue remains nonexistent.
The workload remains substantial.
Yet progress is being made.
Every article published is another digital asset.
Every visitor is another step forward.
Every lesson learned increases the probability of future success.
Will the blog reach 100 visitors per day?
I believe it will.
Will it eventually reach 1,000 visitors per day?
I believe that is possible too.
Will it generate meaningful income through advertising and affiliate marketing?
Time will tell.
For now, my responsibility is simple.
Continue creating content.
Continue learning.
Continue improving.
Continue believing.
The science of making money starts in the mind.
The vision is created internally before it appears externally.
The belief comes first.
The actions follow.
The results eventually arrive.
And that is exactly what I intend to keep working towards, one blog post at a time.
