I Got Rejected By The TikTok Creator Rewards Program

After reaching over 100,000 views of my videos on TikTok within a 30 day period, I applied for the creator rewards program and got rejected!

My TikTok Content Creation Journey

I had my TikTok account for a while, but used it only to view content and posted a few videos, mainly duets. I managed to get over 1,000 followers by following around 4,000 accounts.

I worked towards getting monetized on YouTube and also tried to get this blog monetized via AdSense, but failed with both. It was really difficult to get 1,000 subscribers on YouTube and 4,000 watch hours within a 365 day period.

I continue to publish original posts on my blog, but they are not getting ranked by Google. I think there may be a shadow ban on my domain.

As I was getting nowhere with YouTube and my blog, I made it my priority to get monetized on TikTok. The requirements seemed to be more doable. I started to churn out videos on TikTok using CapCut templates. The videos that I was creating were my own work, even though I was using templates. I knew these videos would not get monetized, but they would help me to reach my goal of generating over 100,000 views within 30 days.

My goal was to get accepted in the creator rewards program. Once I got monetized, I would focus on creating my own videos, without using templates.

It Was Time To Apply For The Creator Rewards Program

I had managed to accumulate over 100,000 views of my TikTok videos within a 30 day period. I was eligible to apply for the creator rewards program.

I went into my TikTok back office and applied to join the creator rewards program. I was excited and knew it was just a matter of time before I got accepted. The excitement was short lived, as I got rejected within 2 hours.

TikTok specified that my videos did not meet the requirement. They must have thought the videos were copied, but I had created them using templates.

Every video on my TikTok account was my own work. I appealed the decision, as I knew the videos were unique and created by me, even though I had used CapCut templates.

I waited for a couple of day for TikTok to get back to me. They replied in the positive and accepted me into the creator rewards program. It was now time to create my own videos, without using templates.

I Started Creating Videos To Get Monetized

I started using the 60 second timer on TikTok to create videos of myself taking about various things. These videos did not qualify to get monetized they were below 1 minute in length.

The 60 second timer cut off the videos at 59 seconds, so they were not eligible to get monetized. I had noticed this glitch after creating a number of videos.

I have now started to use the 10 minute timer on TikTok and make sure the videos are above 60 seconds in length. The videos that I have created after the 59 second glitch have appeared in the creator rewards back office. They are eligible for monetization, but don’t have the sufficient number of views.

Videos need to be over 60 seconds in length and have generated over 1,000 qualified views to start earning money from the creator rewards program.

None of my videos that I created after getting accepted into the creator rewards program have crossed the 1,000 views marker. Some of the videos have managed to cross 300 views. The videos are showing as having insufficient views in the creator rewards back office.

How Much Could My Videos Earn?

There are videos on TikTok that are showing earnings from the creator rewards program, ranging from $4.00 to $8.00 per 1,000 qualified views.

If we take the average from this, we get to $6.00 per 1,000 qualified views. Most creators are posting that a third of their video views are actually counted as qualified views.

If we go with the above figures, we get to $6.00 per 3,000 views. This equates to $2.00 per 1,000 views.

1,000 views could earn me $2.00

10,000 views could earn me $20.00

100,000 views could earn me $200.00

1,000,000 views could earn me $2,000.00

2,500,000 views could earn me $5,000.00

My videos would have to generate 2.5 million views every month to allow me to earn around $5,000.00 monthly.

The above is hypothetical, there are various factors involved in determining the earnings from videos in the creator rewards program.

The 2.5 million views can come from multiple videos. Not all videos on TikTok accounts go viral, a small number of videos are responsible of raking up the vast majority of views.

I am Creating Some Random Videos

I have also started to create random videos and posting them with music over them. I have seen similar videos on other TikTok accounts rack up thousands of views.

My videos have not crossed the 500 views marker. I will continue posting on a regular basis, and eventually some of the videos will cross the 1,000 views barrier.

I am trying to work out which type of videos generate the most views and have the potential to go viral. My notion of viral is racking up over 100,000 views or more.

I would consider videos that rack up over 1,000,000 views as super viral. I used to have videos that easily crossed the 1,000 views marker. Since getting accepted into the creator rewards program most of my videos have not crossed 300 views.

I have over 22,000 followers, I know a large number of them are duplicate accounts. A small number of my followers have started to watch and like my videos on a regular basis.

These followers are watching, liking and commenting on my videos without getting paid to do it. I will never pay for followers, video views, likes or comments. I am building my followers, video views, likes and comments organically.

I get messages from other TikTok users to like and comment on their videos and they will return the favor, but I don’t take them up on these offers.

It’s not worth getting my TikTok account banned by carrying out silly stunts like this. My goal is build my TikTok account organically and get paid from my content for a long time.

Some TikTok Video Creation Ideas

I would appreciate suggestions on videos that I can easily create for TikTok. I want to create videos that don’t require any editing, which I can upload straight to my TikTok account.

I don’t want to lip sync songs or dance around to get views. I want to show people things that are interesting, educational and thought provoking.

I will continue recording and uploading videos of different places that I visit. I know some people will find these videos interesting.

I have been consistent with my TikTok videos, I am uploading a minimum of one videos daily. I have not had much time to write blog post, as I have been busy with a lot of things recently.

I have managed to get TikTok videos out easily, as the require less time than writing a blog post of around 1,500 words. A TikTok video of just over 60 seconds has more change of getting monetized than my blog post of over 1,500 words.

My will continue posting TikTok videos daily and also work on writing my blog post when I get some free time. I can work on blog posts gradually to create a final version that is ready to post.

It’s a little different with by TikTok videos as I need to get them right, I cannot go back and edit them. I can do a few takes, but I need to get it right in a single take, as I am not editing them.
