When Jack Ma started Alibaba, many of the users supported the platform by buying him cigars and paying for goods that he purchased. As I don’t smoke, you can just read my stories and leave comments that will help me improve them.

Maybe one day I will become famous like Jack Ma… who know what the future holds. I have made a start on this journey, it has been my dream for many years.

Jack Ma taught himself English, I am teaching myself the art of writing short stories by diving in the deep end!

Finding The Free Time To Write Short Stories

I am currently working close to 60 hours as a security officer. I work 12hr long night shifts, it takes me 1.5hr to travel to work and 1.5hr to travel back home. It takes me 1hr daily to prepare my meals and uniform for work. In total 16hrs of my day is taken up by work.

The remaining 8hrs have to be divided between sleep, eating, bathing…. This daily routine does not leave much free time. I use my breaks at work to focus on my dream of becoming an author of short stories.

Most security officers sleep during their breaks, some even sleep on post, but I have decided to use my time constructively. It is hard to find the time, but I must find the time to work on my dream.

I will have to plan my days off to enable me to find more free time to use towards working on my short stories. The struggle is real, but nothing worthy has ever been achieved without facing difficulties.

It is said that we need to get out of our comfort-zone to move toward transforming our lives. I am actually working outside the comfort-zone daily, there is no comfort-zone for me!

I don’t have the time to binge watch Netflix or just laze around, my free time is limited. I am taking action everyday towards accomplishing my goal of becoming a renowned author of short stories.

You could say that writing these posts are writing short stories, but without the planning involved. I am writing the blog post on the fly…directly from keyboard to the post.

The short stories are fictional, but these posts are factual and share my thoughts and the things that I am going through.

Focusing On The Positive Things

With so much negativity in the world, it is difficult to keep a positive outlook in live. The cost of living crisis has affected a large number of people worldwide, prices are going up, but earnings are not.

The small number of people have managed to earn a large amount of money during these chaotic times. It’s not just the super rich that have able to capitalize on the uncertainty. Some entrepreneurs have managed to find niches that have enabled them to take advantage of the current state of things.

In reality there are always opportunities available to create wealth, but only a small number of people are able to find these, and a smaller number implement the necessary strategies.

I have cut down my intake of the negative news that has been bombarding us. I am more focused on what I want to accomplish in the future.

I try and find the things that are going right in my life and start to feel grateful for these things. I am grateful for having a roof over my head and food on my plate. I am not struggling in the sense that I cannot afford the bear necessities in life.

It would be better to have a few luxuries and have the opportunity to travel the world. Many people look really contented and blessed from the outside, but once you get to know them, you find out that many things are eating away at them.

I am grateful for my peace of mind and also my health, everything else that I want will come with consistent effort. I have started on the journey and thing will start to get better.

A Sincere Reminder To You All

I would appreciate it greatly if you could take the time to read my short stories and share them with others. It would be a dream come true, if one of my short stories got read by 100,000 people!

Even if I don’t make any money from it, I would still get recognized as good author of short stories. This blog is currently not getting much traffic and the posts are not ranked highly on Google.

I am send traffic to it via links on Social Media. I would appreciate it immensely if you could link to my blog and posts. This would help me to get ranked higher on Google.

I know some of you are may be thinking “what’s in it for you to help me”. There is no financial compensation, but the help that you dish out will come back to you many times greater. It is the universal law of Karma!

That’s enough writing for tonight, let’s see who is willing to step up and lend on my journey toward becoming an accomplished author of short stories.
