My Son Naheed’s 6 Month YouTube Monetization Goal
My son has started on a six month challenge to monetize his YouTube Channel. He had set up his YouTube Channel in April 2021, but did not start working on it seriously until February 2023.
3 Videos And More To Come
He has started to create videos by asking random strangers specific questions and recording their answers.
One of his videos has had over 2,300 views and it’s still getting watched by people daily.
In this video, he is asking strangers the question “What advice would you give to your younger self?” It is a hypothetical question and has produced some quality responses.
This video was captured in HD format using the cameras default setting. Naheed did not have much time to get used to his new camera.
Another video that he uploaded has managed to accumulate 478 views and this number is gradually increasing.
The question asked on this video is “What message would you give to your future self?”. This does not really add any value in the future, as you would already know what you have done.
Even though this question does not make much sense, it has still generate some good responses.
The above video was captured in 720p quality as the camera setting had changed whilst Naheed was messing around with them. The video quality is not really sufficient for YouTube in 2023.
Naheed has decide to leave the video on his channel as a reminder of the mistake that he had made. Mistakes are not bad, if you can learn from them and you should never make the same mistake multiple times.
One day he will look back at this video and laugh at the silly mistake that he made with the video capture settings.
The current current video posted by Naheed has accumulated 33 views in 6 hours and still continuing to get views.
The question asked in this video is “What is your biggest regret in life?”. There have been some good responses from the strangers that were asked this question.
We managed to play around with the camera setting and now the video is captured in full 4K. The video quality is now sufficient for him to build up his YouTube Channel without any worries.
The next equipment on his buying list is a decent microphone to use in his interviews. Once he gets a good quality microphone, the audio quality should improve and he will also be able to take part in the videos.
Currently he is using the microphone that was supplied with the camera. It has a furry wind shield attachment to improve the audio quality. This will suffice until he buys a high quality detachable microphone.
The 6 Months To Monetization Plan
Let me break down the 6 month YouTube monetization plan that Naheed is working with:
- He is going to upload a minimum of 2 videos weekly to his channel.
- He will continue to post shorts to get more subscribers to his channel.
- He will work on continuously improving his videos and also his editing skills.
This 6 month plan is actually really simple but requires a lot of time and effort. The filming and editing of the videos takes up a lot of time.
Naheed is sticking to a legitimate plan of action. He is not looking at inflated views and subscribers from shady avenues. All the views and subscribers on his channel will be legitimate as he is focused on building up a honest and ethical income using YouTube.
By following this plan of action, Naheed’s YouTube Channel should be monetized by August 2023.
Naheed Is Also Branding His YouTube Channel
The goal of getting his channel monetized may take 6 months, but it is also enabling him to brand his channel and also brand himself as a successful YouTuber.
Currently his channel has 111 subscribers, this is only a drop in the vast YouTube ocean. Naheed is currently unknown in YouTube world.
Once his channel has reached over 100,000 (100K) subscribers, he will start to get not noticed. After his channel has reached over 1,000,000 (1M) subscribers, many people will start to know Naheed as a YouTuber.
When his channel reaches over 10,000,000 (10M) subscribers, he should be earing a substantial monthly income to enable him to build up other passive income stream and follow his dreams.
Once you have built up a large following on YouTube it will open up opportunities that would have by passed you previously.
Being a YouTuber is an excellent way to build up your network. Like the saying goes “Your network determines your net worth”. You will need to put yourself out there to brand yourself as a YouTuber.
Being a YouTuber is not like a desk job where you can hide away in the back office. You will need to be the face of your channel and your brand.
The YouTube Learning Curve
You can get started on building a YouTube Channel by using your Smartphone to record video footage. It is possible to get your channel monetized using just your Smartphone and your creativity.
If you want to take your YouTube Channel to the next level you will need to invest in a good quality camera that captures footage in at least 4K. You will also need different lighting equipment to enhance the footage when there is not sufficient lighting.
You will also need to invest in a high quality microphone to capture audio for your video footage. Having the right equipment is just the beginning, you need to learn how to use it properly.
It is worth studying filming techniques and watching other videos on YouTube to figure out the best format for generating the most about of views.
If your goal is to earn money from adverts placed by YouTube on your videos (AdSense), you will need to create videos that are watched by a large number of people and also ones that hold the viewers attention.
You will also need to purchase a good quality video editing software and work toward mastering the use of it.
Becoming a YouTuber is not easy, it takes a lot of time and effort. If you want to pursue a professional career as a lawyer, doctor, architect or engineer, you will need to invest 5 to 7 years of your time and also spend over $100,000 to pay for the education and training.
Even if it takes you 5 years to start earning a substantial income from your YouTube Channel, it will be well worth the effort.
This most important thing is that you should enjoy your journey leading towards getting your YouTube Channel monetized.
How Bad Do You Want The YouTube Dream?
My son Naheed tried out the corporate world for a couple of years and has decide that it’s not the route that he wants to take.
I have promised to support him for as long as it take for him to transform his dream of becoming a YouTuber into reality.
He believes that he can get his YouTube Channel monetized within 6 months and start earning a substantial income from it within 12 to 18 months.
I will support Naheed financially and also provide him with as much guidance as I am able to within the next 12 to 18 months.
I know that Naheed wants the dream of getting his YouTube Channel monetized bad enough to put all his time and effort into it. I can see the motivation and enthusiasm that he is showing, whilst working on the videos.
I am also excited by this project as it will enable to help my son towards doing something constructive with his life. It will also provide an ethical source of income that he will be able to use to build up other income streams and work on his future dreams.
Please subscribe to his YouTube Channel, watch his videos and leave your feedback in the comments section.
