How To Avoid Information Overload

The information age has created an overload of information that needs to be sifted through to get to the really useful stuff. There are many websites, blogs, e-books and video based courses available to everyone worldwide, 24/7 via the internet.

Most of the information is completely useless and a small amount is of real value. I would advise you to find the root source of the information you are looking at to make an informed judgement as to its actual value and accuracy.

Decide What You Want To Achieve

Get clear on exactly what you want to achieve. It has to be crystal clear, set a goal and write it down. Make sure you have put a date of when you want to achieve your goal by. If you don’t put a time limit on it, it will just drag on. A fuzzy goal will lead to fuzzy results. Make sure you define your goal as clearly as possible.

Writing down a goal adds enormous power to it. The process of writing down a goal and putting a time limit on it and signing it at the end makes it seem official to your subconscious mind.

If you don’t know exactly what you want, you will settle for whatever you get. The more clearly you can define what you truly want, the easier it will be to create the plan to help you accomplish it.

Get Information From People Who Have Already Done It

Always seek knowledge from a reliable source. Get the information from someone who has already achieved what you want to achieve.

They will have already done the hard work and made the mistakes that you can now avoid. There is a vast amount of information available on the internet. Make sure that the information that you are gathering is reliable and has actually delivered the results that you are seeking.

You may have to pay for the information, evaluate if the price you are paying for it is actually justified. If the information you are getting will enable you to earn over a million dollars, it will be will worth paying a couple of hundred dollars for it.

Sometimes you will need to spend money to get the right information to enable you to achieve your goals. One thing that I learned whilst in my teens was never to be scared of spending money on knowledge. At that time it was mainly books. I had a massive collection of books, some of them were misplaced and others given away whilst moving house.

The books that I currently have will stay with me and become antiques for my grandchildren. I would also give you the same advice regarding spending money on acquiring knowledge in this digital age, don’t be scared to spend money to acquire useful knowledge.

Create Your Plan Of Action

Once you have gathered the information required to achieve your goal, you will need to make plans. The information is of no value, if it is not used.

Create a plan of action that will enable you to achieve your goal using the information that you have gathered. Make your plan as detailed as possible, outlining each step that is necessary to move you towards achieving your desired outcome.

Don’t share your plan with people who are not willing to support you. Not everyone is your friend or really wants you to succeed in life. Only share your plan with people that will help keep you accountable, like a mentor or members of your mastermind group.

You will have set a goal of what you want to achieve in your life. The plan you will be working on is going to be the blueprint that you will be following to accomplish your goal.

Take Action Consistently

Once you have created a plan of action, you will need to take action daily. Do whatever needs to be done on a regular basis.

Don’t slack on the tasks that need to be accomplished as outlined in your action plan. You should have a list of the most important tasks that need to be accomplished daily.

There will be many time that you will feel like slacking off, these are the times you really need to push yourself. You can overcome these lazy days by forcing yourself to take action. Once you start the task, you will be able to complete it, and it will make you feel great as a result.

During the initial stage of most goals, there is not much visible results from the action that you take. You will need to have faith and continue taking the necessary actions to build up momentum.

Evaluate Your Results

You will need to evaluate the results you are getting from the actions that you are taking. Only by evaluating the results can you track your progress.

If your actions are not producing the results that you require, you will need to modify or change the actions that you are taking.

You may need to modify or change your action plan many times before you start to get the results that you are looking for.

The goal that you have set should not be changed. The plan of action can be changed many times to get you to your desired goal.

I have set a goal of earning $5,000 monthly in passive income using the internet within 24 months. I have a plan of action outlined to enable me to achieve this.

After evaluating the results from the actions that I am taking, I can workout if I need to modify or change these actions.

I know that there will be many instance where obstacles will try and deny me from taking the actions outlined in my plan. I have created contingency plans to get around these obstacles. Sometimes I will need to think dynamically to create contingency plans to get me back on track again.

Research And Refine Your Plan Of Action

If your plan of action is not working out, you may need to do more research. You may need to find other sources of information that will enable you to achieve your goals.

If your dream is important enough, you will always find a way to transform it into your reality. The solutions and plans that you need are already out there.

Sometimes you may need to modify these plans for your purposes. Everything that anyone may need is already out there in the quantum field.
